The Ivy Kensington Brasserie on Kensington High Street is an easy, elegant choice if you’re staying in Kensington or Notting Hill. It’s relaxed but polished, with a menu of British and European favourites that suits almost any occasion.

The Atmosphere

At dinner, it has a relaxed, welcoming feel, with soft lighting, chic decor and a lovely buzz of conversation. The staff were friendly and attentive.

What We Ordered

The menu is a mix of British classics and European dishes. I started with the whiskey barrel wood smoked salmon, which was beautifully served.

For mains, I had the steak tartare and my sister had The Ivy Burger. Both were delicious.

Lena’s Tips

  • Book ahead for dinner. It’s a popular spot on the High Street.
  • Bring anyone. We saw families with kids, groups of friends and couples.
  • Try the smoked salmon. The presentation is lovely.

The Verdict

The Ivy Kensington Brasserie is one of those reliable places that suits any occasion. The Ivy Collection has restaurants across London and the UK, and I’d happily try more of them.
